SAD # 46 Walk at Work Page

Welcome to the Walk at Work Page!

What is the SAD #46 Walk at Work Program??

  • Based on the 2% Boost Program found under the web site www.pbs.org/americaswalking

  • Uses guidelines from government to get 10,000 steps a day

  • All that's needed is pedometer, log book and walking shoes!

How the Program works

  • The first week, track number of steps each day

  • At end of week, add up steps and divide by 7

  • Multiply that average by 1.2

  • This becomes your goal for next week

  • Repeat above process each week

  • The SAD # 46 Walk at Work Program log book has formula in it

What you need to do

  • Get a pedometer and log book

  • For a map of walking paths within our buildings, log into First Class and go to the District Documents conference on your desktop. You can download a copy of the file from there.

  • Goal is to reach 10,000 steps a day in small increments

  • Use small blocks of time to get short walks in (free periods, lunch, before and/or after school)

Record your activity and get free stuff from Anthem!
